Principal Biography

Edmi Figueroa was born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, specialized in Natural Science and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.   She has over 22 years of experience in both public and private education. Mrs. Figueroa began her career in Puerto Rico and has taught scholars in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.

In 2002, she relocated to Central Florida and began working for Orange County Public Schools. As her career progressed, Mrs. Figueroa served in various leadership positions including: Student Advocate/Parent Liaison for the Multilingual Department, Instructional Support and Dean at various Title I elementary schools, and Assistant Principal at multiple elementary and middle schools.  After serving as an Assistant Principal at Meadow Woods Middle school for two years, Mrs. Figueroa joined the administration team at Meadow Woods Elementary as Principal.

Mrs. Figueroa’s strong leadership capabilities have made an impact on students’ academic learning in many schools across the district. Her philosophy is that all scholars have genius. She firmly believes in the importance of finding the genius in every child by creating strong relationships with them, helping them develop social-emotional skills, and setting high expectations to ensure each scholar reaches his/her maximum academic potential and leadership.
