Dear New Pre-K Parents,

Welcome to Pre-K at Meadow Woods Elementary!

During Meet the Teacher Night, you will be getting information about the new arrival and dismissal procedures. There are a couple of very important obligations for Pre-K parents that you will need to meet in order to participate in Pre-K at Meadow Woods Elementary. The first obligation is that an adult (at least 18 years old) must sign your child in and out (on time) each day. Arrival will take place from 8:35-8:45 a.m. daily, and dismissal will take place between 2:45-3:00 p.m. (1:45-2:00 p.m. Wednesdays.) Please plan enough time so that you arrive at the dismissal area no later than 3:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. Wednesdays.) Because Pre-K teachers have additional responsibilities following dismissal, picking your child up late from school will result in him/her being dismissed from the Pre-K program at Meadow Woods Elementary.

The second important obligation for Pre-K parents is to participate in a home visit with the teacher prior to the beginning of school. This is a very valuable opportunity for us to spend some individual time together discussing what you and your Pre-K child can expect this school year. Also, I will bring some additional paperwork specific to Pre-K that we will complete together. Then you will be able to ask any questions you may have for me at that time. If your child can be there, I would like to meet him/her as well as take an individual and family photo. The visit will last approximately 45-60 minutes.

When you come to school to register your child for Pre-K, you can schedule your home visit.  If your phone number changes during the summer, please be sure to notify the school office at 407-858-3140.

Please plan to bring your supplies when you come to Meet the teacher. Also, please note that backpacks with wheels are not allowed at Meadow Woods Elementary.

Pre-K will be a very special time for your child, as well as for your family. I’m looking forward to sharing this special time with you!
